KEEP YOUR EYE OUT; CHRISTIAN LUKE!!!

[Christian Luke]

Basically.... CHRISTIAN LUKE is fucking epic. Based out of Australia, this guy jumped on my radar out of nowhere. All in all, his tracks are some of the most well produced records I've heard in recent months. I discovered his music when I found his remix of the classic "Burning [Hands up]" track from the prestigous Subliminal records while sifting through Beatport. This song is an epic (if your a Morillo fan) track and to pull of a remix that compliments such a massive original is a feat in itself.

He's currently doing a South American tour, so check his MYSPACE for dates if your down there and see what I'm talking about.

Keep a close watch on this guy, and mark my word, hes gonna blow up if he keeps putting out quality productions like the ones hes released in the last 6 months.

Afrojack @ Vanity, Las Vegas

Memorial Day Weekend in Vegas was nuts. Way too crowded... I'm talking standing in lines to stand in more lines, but the show at Vanity was dope. I wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to see Afrojack and Deadmau5 spin in a nightclub. Afrojack KILLED IT. Deadmau5 was a major letdown. Not only was he an hour and a half late (started spinning at 4:30am), but he must have been wasted. The only track he spun that I even recognized was "Some Chords" which I don't even like in the first place. I heard he spun till 7am but I couldn't even stay an hour. He was playing drum n bass as I was walking out... seriously. If Afrojack didn't save your ass I would have asked for a refund Mr. Mau5. I wasn't at Wet Republic the next day so I have no idea if he redeemed himself. Anyways, here's some footage of Afrojack doing what he does best. Sorry Deadmau5, yours got deleted.

Afrojack dropped two of his new tracks I had never heard before, so here they are.

He announced that this track was another big collab for him, but I forgot who he said it was with. I could use some help with the track ID. This is going to be massive.

This track he said is on his new album. Oh what an album that will be.

It's nice to be finally settled in for the summer... I hope everyone is ready for some big tunes. Getting right to the point, S.co put me up on fRew's new joint and it's RIDICULOUS. I don't know where the hell fRew found all these dark ass sounds, but it works. If you can get away with spinning it, this one will have even the paraplegics up on the dance-floor. Oh Pete, what would we do without you...

[Pete Tong]

Two huge new tunes showed up on Pete Tong's weekly radio-show yesterday, so I thought I'd share some previews with the readers.

We all remember Afrojack & Bobby Burns' "Ghettoblaster," which is actually still my favorite Afrojack tune to date (arguable with "Radioman"). Anyways, you know they had to follow it up with something, and they've done so with their new track "Bungee." No crazy dutch-house synths in this one, just heavy breakdowns and a catchy drum pattern.

Afrojack, Bobby Burns - Bungee (Original Mix) preview
[Electro House]

If you're as big of a Benny Benassi fan as I am than you're also waiting for his new single "Spaceship" to drop. Previews for the original are available elsewhere, but the Kris Menace Remix sounds a lot better in my opinion. The vocals on this track remind me of Benassi's work on the Phobia album, "Rocket in the sky-esque" in my opinion.

Who Knows?

[the last S&H graphic I made I still see floating around everywhere, so here's a new one]

So it turns out that the track going around labeled "Spencer & Hill - Los Angeles (Michael Woods Remix)" is actually their new track called "Who Knows." I hope they throw some vocals on this when they decide to release it.

Throwbacks

[DJ S.co & Kopedale // Ibiza 2006]

I can't believe how fast time flies. It's been almost 4 years since it all started. S.co and I haven't been listening to house music forever, but all we needed was one trip to Ibiza and the obsession was in full swing. We showed up on the island in 2006 with no idea of what to expect. Everything I knew about dance music involved glow sticks and pacifiers, but this place was different. I was expecting trance and raves, but I got clubs and house music. The people around me didn't need drugs, they were high off the music, and I knew I was witnessing something special. The tracks I heard during those 7 summer Ibiza nights would become the foundation for my taste in house music. Destiny? Maybe. Here are the tracks that changed my life forever.

Highlight of WMC '10

[Erick Morillo @ LIV, WMC, 2010]

The highlight of my WMC trip this year was definitely Erick Morillo's Bday Celebration @ LIV nightclub. The event took place on Saturday, March 27th inside the beautiful Fontainebleau hotel in South Beach, Miami. It was by far the most exclusive party that night, arguable with David Guetta's party at Mansion (but Mansion is HUGE). Those lucky enough to get through the line were hit with a $200 cover for guys and $100 for girls, seriously. In an recent interview, Erick Morillo talked about the party, "by 11 o’clock they had to close the doors, we were at full capacity with two thousand people outside trying to get in. It was a really, really incredible party – I played til about 6 in the morning." Check out the rest of the interview here.

Anyways, I took some videos of the event, so I thought I'd share some of them with the readers.

Exceeder - Felguk Remix

So S.co and I have successfully survived this year's Winter Music Conference in Miami. We have loads of videos and pictures to share but haven't had the time to upload them all yet. This is a quick post because this track dropped while we were in Miami. It's a Felguk remix of one of our favorite Electro House tracks of all time. Mason's "Exceeder" is up there with Bodyrox's "Yeah Yeah," the crème de la crème of electro house. The Felguk remix does not disappoint, it's massive.... and massive might be an understatement. Epic remix, touché Felguk.

[Fontainebleau Hotel]

So it's getting down to the wire here; WMC officially kicks off in 3 days. If your attending the conference, most likely you have your airfare and hotel already set up, but chances are you're still debating which parties to hit up. Planning ahead is essential for your trip to move smoothly. Trust me, the last things you want to deal with while you're there are douchey promoters and long lines. You can avoid this by getting tickets to the events you know you can't miss, and showing up as early as possible. Here are some websites that will help make your Miami trip more organized.

New Ian Carey + WMC Dates

If I had the chance to sit down with one person to pick their brain about production techniques, it would probably be Ian Carey. All his tracks are so simple, yet so epic. This guy is a US native, but when he started making house music, he moved to Europe to be closer to it all. Talk about being a G. I've never seen the guy spin before, but I'm going to try and catch him while he's in Miami for WMC. That being said, here are his Miami dates...

Inside Look At Laidback Luke's Studio...

[Personal Tour of Laidback Luke's Studio]

For all you people that think the worlds chart topping dance tracks are made in big expensive studios on all of the best equipment, well this will blow your mind. You say in all fairness that Luke's studio is almost not a studio. Its a small room, non-treated room, with only two keyboards, two standard speakers, 1 mic, and a screen on a small desk. He even shows us the line of plug-ins that he uses, which are all free. Laidback Luke now uses Ableton, so this video is a little old, but nonetheless relevant.

If your musically talented, then you can make music. You don't need the most expensive equipment and latest technology, as much as you need creativity and love for the music. Some serious, big-time famous tracks were made in the little space of Luke's.

To Laidback Luke; keep making great dance music and inspiring other producers to push the boundaries of what makes the club bounce! Respect!

Milk & Honey - Felguk Mix

I've been waiting a long time to here how this one was going to turn out. The original mix to this track put Soundpusher on the map and literally made me a fiend for their music. Waves Of Change...

[Kaskade]

"The only thing constant in life is change."

Kaskade is without a doubt one of the most talented producers in the game. I remember seeing him at EDC in Los Angeles about 3-4 years ago, and I didn't know that much about Kaskade, but after that I kept my eye on him. He killed it. Since then he's released huge #1 tracks with both Deadmau5 and Tommy Trash. "Move For Me", and "Step One Two" are going to become classics eventually in my opinion. He's got no plans of slowing down either, this track is another amazing production. If you like this song, then you will like his others, so purchase his music at Beatport.

New and Noteworthy.

[So it turns out the girl we used in the banner is a topless DJ from Hungary? Niki Belucci? Really?]

So I've got some exciting tunes for the readers today. The first one is a track from Soundpusher, whose music has made a home here on the 310 blog. They sent me the track this morning and I've already listened to it 8 times all the way through. It's more mainstream than their usual stuff, but it turned out really well. Hopefully this will get played out in the clubs and these guys can get some of the credit they deserve. The vocals with that massive synth, forget about it - ladies watch out, this one is a club banger. They're currently working with Bad Boy Bill on some things and have a new single on the way called "Wanna Get Next To You" feat. Whiskey Pete, which we should have a snippet of fairly soon.

[Electro House]

Here's a track by the legendary Sgt Slick that just keeps growing and growing on me. At first, I thought it was too repetitive to post but it's really not. When it drops at 2:15, you'll understand why. Great track.

Kopedale speaking. Sorry I've been out of commission, sadly its been almost 3 months since my last post. Long story short, I wasn't happy with the direction Three One Oh! was headed in. We started out as an Electro/Fidget blog, but in my opinion the fidget is getting worse and worse. Artists like Micky Slim, Calvertron, and Crookers are why we started this blog in the first place, but today I can't post their newer releases with the confidence I once had. This is why we are no longer classifying ourselves as a fidget blog. The new Three One Oh! is going be Electro House, Progressive House, and House releases only. I (Kopedale) will be posting mostly Electro House while S.co has been focusing mainly on Progressive and House lately. With the help of our readers, the blog can be what it used to and better. Trust us, this is just the beginning of Three One Oh Electro.

But enough babble...

Paul Gala's Leaves EP just dropped on Beatport and I have to say I'm damn impressed with this guy. His track "Leaves" is a progressive gem with a monster electro drop. What more could you ask for? Expect a huge year for Paul Gala.
